  • So the Patch Notes got me thinking that we are going to eventually run into a similar issue with the Competitive page as each season and it's information is slowly going to collect making the page very long. What are you thoughts on splitting the seasons onto their own seperarte pages? That would just leave the Competitive page with core information and links to each season's page basically eliminating the History and Rewards section.

    • Sorry for the late reply - haven't had access to my home PC for a few days.

Yes, I think it's a good idea, although not quite sure what format would be best. Maybe subpages from the main article? A small navbox would also probably be useful, and I'm happy to set one up depending on the format we go for.

        Loading editor
    • No problem. Yeah I think subpages and a navbox will help for sure.

    • I'm happy to put together an infobox, although I've been pretty busy over the last week or so, so haven't had any time to do stuff with the wiki. Will hopefully get some time this week!

    • Ok there is no rush I have also been getting busier due to the holiday season, So I completely understand about not having enough time!

  • Hello, I don't see a Spartan Sam antenna in my inventory. Maybe it is a exclusive platform (I'm on PC).

  • Hello, I wanted to add a new section, hitbox type, in the template:Infobox vehicle but it seems I have failed as it don't appears in the preview when editing vehicle pages. Can you do the work when you have time, please ?

      Loading editor
    • Not a problem! I take it that it relates to the standardisation that Psyonix introduced in Patch v1.35?

        Loading editor
    • Indeed, so we can remember what's the hitbox type of the car. But next patch said Batmobile got his old hitbox back, so I don't know if that means he lose his plank type.

        Loading editor
    • I've fixed the infobox, but as the standardisation is also for a vehicle's handling, as well as its hitbox, I've renamed the attribute "bodytype" (this won't interfere with the existing "type" attribute).

I've also made some minor changes to the other attributes to try and simplify the infobox somewhat, so will look at updating the Battle-Car pages appropriately.

If you have any other ideas for updating infoboxes, let me know and I can make sure that the changes go through okay.

        Loading editor
    • I see you got all the other body articles updated with the "bodytype" attribute. Nice work!

If you need to add any new references to articles, I'd recommend using the citation templates we have available on the wiki, as it helps standardise how thing look. (I updated the one you added on the Jäger 619 RS page with the {{reddit}} template.)

  • I commented on the banners page about Zombie being painted and the missing colors. The below are all painted (all 13 colors available). I've updated my spreadsheet if you would like to use that as a reference. http://1trueknight.com

Stitches (Breakout), Widow's Web (Mantis), Afterlife (Dominus), and Thanatos (Octane)

    Cauldron, Grimalkin, and Revenant

    Thanks man,

    TK

  • Btdubs, the Twisted Tree decal is universal (99% sure)

  • Thanks for updating the banners page. How do you get pictures of the individual item colors? If I can help with that, let me know.

When you have time, can you use my spreadsheet to add the same for the toppers and antennas? If their is a site tutorial somewhere, I'd be happy to check it out. I just don't want to mess with pages too much and screw something up without knowing what I'm doing.

    • The images of each individually-coloured item are from https://rocket-league.com, but they aren't always up-to-date, and the player banners are unlikely to see coloured variations added, as Rocket League only uses a coloured border when displaying them on the item selection screen.

To that end, I'm inclined to find a better way to display which variants are available. (Maybe a table using coloured squares?)

There's no guide on how best to format a new page at present, but it's something I've thought of doing for some time. The best thing to do is to look at some of the pages for newer items and follow that.

  • In a trade lobby, just found out octane ZSR can be painted, I know you cam dig into the game Code, so I just thought I'd let you know.

      Loading editor
    • I don't suppose you have a screenshot to confirm this, so we can update the Octane ZSR page as paintable?

        Loading editor
    • If we have no proof, we can't add that. Maybe you mistake with the regular Octane...

        Loading editor
    • Which is why I brought this to Owen, if I remember correctly, he can dig into the code on PC and find the icons that prove it exists, if it does.

        Loading editor
    • Unfortunately, the way the painted item icons are produced is not something I'm able to pull from the game's files, as they don't exist as individual images, but are generated on the fly.

Current painted icons were obtained from Rocket League Garage, as there's a guy on Reddit (can't remember who) that has managed to script painted thumbnail generation.

  • Hello, I have see in Rocket League Garage and videos on YouTube that this items are Import quality, but when I got them from another player, they are Limited quality. If you have them in your inventory, can you confirm the quality please ?

      Loading editor
    • I don't have them myself, but this video shows them as Import when they're redeemed via a code, and this video shows them as Import when received via trading.

Do you have a screenshot you can upload to Steam or imgur (or somewhere like that)?

        Loading editor

    • I think it changes via trading up items... Example the rocket boost Sparkles is identified as "Common", I was trading up 5 of my items and got "Import" classified Sparkles that was painted Cobalt Blue.... However this wouldn't really work as those items are Import by default and cant be recieved via trade up.

        Loading editor
    • Impossible for ZT-17 and Cold Fusion GLiTcH2, they can't either be trade-up. My opinion is maybe Psyonix changed the quality in a update later after the YouTube showcase videos for make them really impossible to select for trade-in.

Only painted variant of Common cars and boost are Import quality, as painted variant of Common toppers are Uncommon quality, for make this items tradable to others players

C3POwer, how about to party in-game and I show you them in the trade window so you can see the quality ?

  • So I saw that you added a background image for the AquaDome arena page, I really liked the idea so I added one for FarmStead and Utopia Coliseum which I think spice up the page and makes them a bit more attractive. What do you think of adding backgrounds to all the arena pages?

      Loading editor
    • I do think it looks pretty smart, although it'd be quite easy to get carried away with customising every page on the wiki in this way!

I've added a couple more (Core 707 and Starbase ARC) with images captured in-game specifically for use as backgrounds. I guess we want something that just captures the arena background and isn't too distracting?

(I've also done some additional tinkering with the site's CSS, although hopefully nothing too distracting.)

        Loading editor
    • lol true it would be easy to get carried away! Yeah I like using the arena backgrounds, don't think a view of the actual arena would look good for a background.

Haven't noticed any CSS changes that are distracting so no worries and I am all for any changes that help make the appearnace more appealing to people!

        Loading editor
    • Right, well that's background images for all of the arena pages done!

Most of the images should have a blue half and an orange half, and I've even ensured that the CSS is ready for when pages on ARCtagon and Badlands go live. 😎

        Loading editor
    • Looks really good, Ah so you have future proofed the CSS lol nice thinking!
